Students and faculty with All Saints High School Key Club capped off #Homeless Awareness Week with a cold walk from school to the Mission. Upon their arrival they received a tour of the Mission before they went to work! They served cookies and hot cocoa to the guests of the Mission. It was heart warming to see these teenagers serving the homeless, engaging in long conversations with them, and learning their stories. It seemed everyone was blessed by the event; teens and mission guests alike. Thank you All Saints for your warm hearts for our guests especially on these cold days. #BayCity
Emily Rauschert is a 7th grader at Christa McAuliffe Middle School and a real super star! She did something spectacular to help the nearly 68 men, women, and children in shelter at Good Samaritan Rescue Mission right now. For a class at school she came up with an idea that is making a real difference in real people’s lives. Emily had originally visited the Mission in early October with her youth group from Bay City Evangelical Church. They were here to volunteer some time and help out with some cleaning. Emily decided she wanted to learn even more about the Mission by collecting things for the homeless with the help from other students at school and then bring them here. She asked the school to announce the collection and put collection boxes throughout the school. She brought in clothes, hygiene items and canned food items. Emily now will show her teacher what she learned through a 3-5 minute presentation which will include pictures from the Mission, an informational power point, her blog and a creation of what she accomplished! #AmazingStudents #BayCity
The Youth Group from Bay City Evangelical Church shared their talents and lots of smiles while they did some cleaning around the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. A clean home is a Godly home. Our guests at the Mission notice our volunteers who care to give of their time to lend a hand.
Thank you so much, Bay City Evangelical Youth Group!
TeamGM Cares, from GM PowerTrain in Bay City, was recently at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission showing just how much they do care! They helped out by cleaning and sorting in the toy gift room and say they’ll be back again! We’re looking forward to it!
Thank you so much!
The St Patrick’s Day Parade – Bay City, MI Queen Olivia and Princesses Delaney and Grace shared some time and celebrated a fun-filled craft night with the children in shelter.
The kids made shamrock crafts with LOTS of green glitter and glue, played with toys together and posed for a picture with the queen and princesses with their crowns! The children had a great time! Thank you girls! #BayCity #StPatricksDayParadeBayCity
