Services
After several years of planning and renovating, the Good Samaritan Rescue
Mission opened its doors on March 23, 2005 to serve women and children
in need of emergency shelter services. Since opening we have provided a
place to stay for over 1,000 residents.
The
Good Samaritan Rescue Mission provides emergency shelter services to single
women and mothers with children. While at the Mission clients receive
nutritious meals and personal care items to meet their physical needs
as well as encouragement and support to meet their emotional and spiritual
needs. During their stay clients are referred to agencies within the community
that partner with GSRM to meet their overall needs.
In September 2006, Good Samaritan opened it's
Intact Family Wing. Two rooms were opened to provide shelter for intact
families (mom, dad, and children or a single dad with children). On April
16, 2007 a third room was dedicated and opened to further increase the
capacity to assist families in their time of need. With the opening of
the new wing Good Samaritan Rescue Mission is better able to serve homeless
families in need.
On February 26, 2008 GSRM opened its new Men’s Emergency Shelter. Now everyone in the Bay area that is homeless can have a warm bed, and a hot meal. |
